AN ETERNAL OPTIMIST :)

1 01 2010

Finally! After contemplating for many months, I start this brand New Year with my blog on a positive and an inspirational note. As the title suggests, I don’t claim to be one eternally (I am cynical some of the times), but I definitely aim to be one. Now that’s an optimistic thought in itself. I feel that facing each and every event with a positive attitude can certainly make life easier.

Everyone goes through their share of lows in life…even a Tiger! But does it stop them from being who they are or doing what they do best? (No pun intended) An average Indian is believed to be happier than most of his other counterparts. That is evident from the fact that even a tainted minister, convicted on grounds of corruption and transgressions, can still win the state elections or an out-of-form cricketer can still profess his choice of endorsements. It is another fact that this can happen only in India! But it just shows that a positive and determined mind can tide over the testing times fearlessly. And that is exactly what I have learnt in my 2½-year stint at engineering. After every “not-so-good” paper, you always hope that the next one will be easier!

It is the question of whether you see your glass as half-empty or half-full. To reach the pinnacle you have start from the base and traverse across the rocky patches. So why fear failure? Instead, work on your present with passion and then hope for the best. It is the same ‘Darr ke aage jeet hai’ funda. Clichéd as it may sound, luck always favors the brave. It is this perpetually optimistic attitude that I yearn for. However hoping for assignment-free, practical-oriented studying in our education system is an overtly optimistic thought. Not to forget the tormenting species who call themselves the ‘benefactors of knowledge’, in other words, ‘professors’. But we still have our techfests, cultural fests and trips that we look forward to. ;)

A recent product of brilliant and inspirational cinema gives an insight to the world of a hardworking engineering student. It shows us that even if nothing is working in your favor, there is always a door of opportunities just waiting to be opened. Only the key to that door is in your hand! It is the optimism, courage and faith in your own self that needs to be awakened. It is only about time we start realizing our true strength..

To sum it up, I would interpret a song from the same movie ‘3 Idiots’ like an ‘eternal optimist‘…

“Give me some sunshine,
Give me some rain,
I will get another chance,
To grow up the way I say…!”

Wish you all a very Happy and a Positive New Year!!
 Cheers to Life!! :)

Madame Foram arrives!
I remember when I was a kid (Which is not very long ago really :P ) I’d be the only one around hoping India stood a chance in the most pathetic of situations(Cricket), much to the ridicule of others.Optimism is good but not to the level of ignorance.I have learnt.
And as for your blog, one of the warmest and nicest start to blogs that I have come across.Very Foramisque.Very Nice n ‘Smiley’ post if that makes any sense :P .
I’m being optimistic now and hope you keep writing because it is a very rampant disease amongst bloggers who quit or have huge sporadic droughts.
